Answer questions

Scholarships are limited and not everyone who applies is selected, so do your best to answer the questions, complete the essay, and provide letters of recommendation.

Recommendation Letters

You will need at least 2 letters. Provide your recommender’s name and email address in the scholarship application.

Florida Bright Futures

Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program includes:

  • Academic Scholars Scholarship (pays 100% of TSC's tuition and normal fees associated with tuition)
  • Medallion Scholars Scholarship (pays 100% of TSC's tuition and normal fees associated with tuition)
  • Medallion Scholars Scholarship (pays 75% of TSC's Bachelor's degree tuition and normal fees associated with tuition)
  • Gold Seal CAPE Scholars Scholarship
  • Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Scholarship

To have your Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Award applied to your tuition at TSC, you must:

*TSC can not access your Bright Future funds until you have met this criteria. Funding is limited to 45 credit hours within an academic year.

1. Inform the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program you are attending TSC

TSC must be identified as your Post-Secondary Institution (PSI). To update your PSI, contact the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program customer service at 1-888-827-2004 or http://www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/

2. You must be fully admitted to TSC with no admission holds

All required transcripts, test scores, application requirements, etc., must be received and evaluated by the TSC Admissions & Records Office. Submit these forms and complete all holds in Workday.

3. Florida residency must be established

The TSC Admissions & Records Office must confirm that you are a Florida resident who meets the requirements for one of the four tiers of Bright Futures for the Academic Year.

4. You must have a Social Security Number on file in Workday

Submit your social security number to the TSC Admissions & Records Office through Workday. It must match the social security number the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program has on file for you.

5. Enroll in at least six credit hours that apply toward your degree at TSC

The classes you enroll in must be required for the TSC program of study you were accepted into. Bright Futures will not cover classes outside of your degree requirements or course loads below six credit hours.

6. Use caution when dropping or withdrawing from your course(s) after the Drop/Add deadlines

You must reimburse the college for the cost of course(s) dropped or withdrawn after the initial drop/add period and complete a Florida Bright Futures Appeal Form.

The Florida Bright Futures Appeal Form can be found on Workday's app under the "Student Finance Hub" > "TSC College Forms" > "Submit a New Form" > "Financial Aid".

Due to a verifiable illness or emergency, you can submit an appeal electronically for hours dropped or withdrawn after the last day of the drop/add period.

Other Scholarships

Outside Scholarships are awarded by various businesses, charities, clubs/groups, etc. These scholarships have their individual application process and are awarded by outside organizations. Please be aware of what websites you search through and know there should never be a cost associated with applying for scholarships.

The links below are for outside scholarships that are not offered directly through Tallahassee State College. For more information, please contact the individual organization.

Scholarship granting organizations wishing to have their scholarships posted below can email [email protected] with a brief description, including the deadline, and the scholarship application link for consideration. Beginning May 1, 2023, Florida organizations will only be permitted to advertise a scholarship offer. 

If you receive an outside scholarship, make sure to report this information to the Financial Aid Office so it can be included in your financial aid award.
