Resources for Undergraduate Researchers

This page provides resources meant to help TSC students complete undergraduate research projects, including video recordings of the Undergraduate Research Program’s Research

If a student is doing research with human subjects and plans to share the results in any way, they must get approval from the TSC Institutional Review Board (IRB) before starting the study. This is required by College policy (po5200). The IRB is approved by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to make sure all research at TSC follows federal laws that protect people in studies (45 CFR 46).

Sharing results includes publishing in the TSC Undergraduate Research Journal or presenting at the Undergraduate Research Symposium. All students should watch the video linked below to learn more about what the IRB does and why it matters.

TSC IRB has created a streamlined process for the review of student research projects. Students wishing to submit projects for IRB review should click on the link below to complete a short initial intake form. Once completed, a review of projects is typically completed within 1 to 2 business days during the fall and spring semesters.
